I was 2 months pregnant with my daughter at the time and was at work... because I was pregnant I felt nauseous that day and went next door to the restaurant to get a gingerale... the televisions were on in the restaurant and I could not believe what I was seeing.. news coverage because the towers had been destroyed!!! What a scary moment... and a moment that no one will ever forget. And all I can say too is... that crazy Pastor!!! Why not throw boulders at the hornet's nest huh??? But wow what another moment in history...

I was feeding my 9 year old daughter, who was 7 months old at the time while she was sitting quietly in her high chair. My 11 year old who was almost 2 and a half, was standing in front of the television watching some baby program. My other two were in school. My husband phoned me from work, and frantically told me to turn on the news immediately. I had to interrupt my, then 2 year old's program to do so. She did not like that, but I ignored her cries because I could not believe what I was seeing and hearing on the television. The twin towers had been destroyed! It seems like it was so long ago, yet at the same time it feels like it was yesterday. Never forget. I don't believe the pastor ended up doing anything. Nonetheless he had burned the Koran back in 2006. What a hypocrite. By the way my husband is half Arabic and half German. Can you imagine the crap he had had to put up with? And he is one of the most tolerant and gentle people who I know.
Blessed Be, Andi

Warning! May be disturbing to some members!
I was actually awake & watching the morning news when the towers first got hit. Initially they assumed that it had been a terrible accident, but then we watched with gut-wrenching realization as yet another plane very deliberately came into view & aimed itself at the second tower. I was living with miss Bothmann & her parents in preparation for our planned move away from metro Detroit that was happening two days later, so I immediately ran into the kitchen & told her father what had happened & that he had to turn on the news.
We tearfully watched in horror. Why was it happening? Who was doing it? The sheer lunacy of people so desperate to escape the possibility of a firey death that they chose to dive from the rooftop instead. Then the awful moments when the towers started to fall with all of those people still inside of them. The news that another plane was loose somewhere & looking for a target...that all major cities mat be targets & we were right next to Detroit! Begging her parents if we could please leave 2 days early to get as far from Detroit as possible. Awful, just awful.
Sincerely, Laurasia
