I just wanted to pass on my concern for those who might be in the wake of the huge hurricane that is currently sweeping across the northeast of America. I hope that any of our members who live in the affected areas are safe and well. I have heard that power has gone down in various counties/neighbourhoods and I have a friend not far from New Jersey where Sandy is currently headed, so I am very worried about her. Please send your prayers and good vibes to all our members who might be affected by this disaster, and if you are one of those people, please let us know that you're safe if you can Thanks Liz

Finally reporting in from the front lines, so to speak...
Hurricane Sandy knocked out my power and heat on October 29, and it wasn't restored until yesterday morning, November 7th.
Everything seems to have normalized in our town, but that's not the case for the rest of the area... There's still a lot of trees down, wires snapped and lying in the road, etc. Lots don't have their power yet, though they're working on getting all of it back up this week... Either way, going weeks without heat and electricity is terrifying and uncomfortable. I hope everyone who lost it gets it back soon.
The shore is a complete mess. New York is still recovering. Some train lines have been recovered, same with the subway and bus lines. Basically, everyone's still recovering the best that they can. Any prayers, blessings, etc. would be much appreciated and welcomed.
Thank you, eiszeit

Virginian reporting in: all's well on my end. Didn't get much more than a lot of rain and some wind, and the power stayed on the whole time. All my best to others in the path of the storm. Prayers and well wishes being sent your way. oh, where in VA? i'm in VA too, on the east coast we just had a bunch of rain. we had power, but it rained a bunch and tons of wind. luckily we didnt have any flooding, which is weird, because our city usually floods with just heavy rain
