That is really cool that you had such success with that!

I started off using pendulums (and cards, but not quite as much for past life reading) and that helped me a great deal.

The way you explain it is exactly how it happens for me too, not optic but more mental in how the visions appear. I've actually always been good at zoning out and projecting my own mental images onto my surroundings, so being able to have that kind of focus really helps!

I hope your method can help others who are looking for ways to see their past lives.

This is such an interesting method of retrieving info about PL's and its not something I would have ever considered before :-) I can't say I've had an awful not of success with scrying - although I have a black cauldron (don't laugh!!) and have filled that with water on a couple of occasions. I think it takes time to form the images and maybe I've just not done it for long enough, usually like you I rely on cards, I don't have a pendulum, but one thing you can do is get another person to hold it and ask the question. I did this the other week with a friend, as I didn't trust my influence on it - and yes it gave some shocking answers! Another weird thing you can do is to stare at your reflection in an ordinary mirror and see if that morphs into anything. Now that I have had success with, its a bit freaky actually, I did it the other week and saw my face morph into my blogging friend's features, that really rattled me!

On a side-note, a friend of mine from years back, told me that he acquired a 'haunted' mirror - that's something else altogether, but a lot of witches used to use them along with Mediums. Its supposed to be a way of contacting 'the dead' and spirits are supposed to well, yes - haunt the mirror. My friend said at the time, that the mirror creeped him out, he used to feel very uneasy looking into it, as he kept seeing these other people appear in the reflection. So yes, in a roundabout way, I'm saying that I think you got some good results from this method, it may act as a 'gateway' for you to pass through into the past. :-)

Congratulations on finding a new, successful method for your divinatory purposes. (And I completely agree about Samhain/Halloween being such an "inner-revelation period". I've been dealing with some karmic revelations of my own this Samhain season too. )

I have experienced suddenly seeing the face of one of my former incarnations super-imposed over my own in a mirror before (though I wasn't scrying at the time). It is very startling indeed. ;D

It has happened several times to me, that I would be having a PL experience (usually a replay of one I had earlier in a more settled state of consciousness) and I would have it say, in the bathroom, and then I would look in the mirror while at the sink and suddenly see a completely different expression in my eyes, as if it's a different person looking at me. It could be shocking at times because it would express things that I 'didn't even know I am able to look/think like this', but teaching me a lot.

When I 'try' to do regressions ans such, it usually doesn't work, so I don't try. To me it becomes too 'pushy', those exercises often feel to mental. It has to come when I'm ready and then it does.
