Not sure if its the right place but I have a few questions about jobs by SS members, particularly those of the SD, siPO and Gestapo.. If you count them SS, sorry my knowledge on branches is a little lacking...
1. Which jobs requires you to look into crime scenes like a normal policeman and also special jobs? You know, capturing Jews... And also security and CSI??
2. Is it possible for members to join two jobs? I know you can be a Gestapo and Waffen-SS (usually reserves) but I'm talking about Gestapo and in the SD at the same time..?
I would appreciate it if someone answer these questions for me! Thanks!

Hello Ignotus. Oh yes you could be a member of both at the same time....I was. As SS3 mentioned, branches often overlapped each other. Also the ways in which they overlapped often changed, so don't feel bad for your lack of understanding how it all correlates together. It is all really a big mess that became worse & worse as the war went on. Sincerely, Laurasia

I sort of sorted my ex-jobs as I have always been interested in crime and my favorite shows would be Castle and CSI (Duh..) and if somebody ever break the rules, I would be the first to give you a piece of my mind. I have a feeling that I may be a SD or Gestapo or Kripo or maybe all three.. Must have been stressful.. I don't remember why I did it, but I have a feeling that I was duty bound. Which is what a lot of policemen are lacking in my country currently... I remember I had lots of medals but most are faithful services. Not war medals. But I heard you can't be a SD and siPO at the same time as the two of them are technically the same branch but arch-nemesis, always trying to out-intel the other. Oh, by the way, please tell me if I start acting like Richard Castle again...

Hi Ignotus. While I don't completely understand how all of the branches overlap with one another myself either I believe that SIPO was general security intelligence. The SD on the other hand was Reich security intelligence. Basically the SIPO was supposed to watch everyone, but the SD was supposed to watch Nazi Party members. So if you were a Nazi Party member that was doing something shady or illegal it was the SD that you worried about the most. I may be wrong in this, but I think that SIPO was absorbed into the SD at some point in time. Sincerely, Laurasia
