By far the trigger that works the most readily for me in past life recall is listening or meditating to music. And not necessarily "meditation music". Indeed the vast majority of the music that works for me in recalling Hans' lifetime is anything but "meditative" to most people. Of course that is mostly because of the type of life & the conditions that Hans lived under. I have other incarnations (older ones) that respond very well to more "meditative music". Essentially if I am wanting to recall something from a particular lifetime I know what type of music to listen to for each of them. ;D Since our forum is focused on our WWII lifetimes I will only list songs/music that has been helpful for me in recalling memories/thoughts/feelings from Hans' lifetime. It's a long list & will likely grow with time. In fact, I have been recently listening to some of the music & songs that I preferred listened to as a teenager (before I was consciously aware of having been Hans) & have been discovering that, in many cases, it was my lifetime as Hans that made me able to connect so deeply or be so effected by certain songs even though I had no idea why that was. Perhaps some members here have found these songs to be helpful for them in recalling their own WWII past lives...or perhaps they can try listening to them for themselves & see if any of them bring about memories for them too.

"Lili Marlene"
(English translation)
Underneath the lantern, by the barrack gate, Darling I remember the way you used to wait. 'Twas there that you whispered tenderly, That you loved me, You'd always be, My Lili of the lamplight, My own Lili Marlene.
Time would come for roll call, Time for us to part, Darling I'd caress you and press you to my heart, And there 'neath that far off lantern light, I'd hold you tight, We'd kiss good-night, My Lili of the lamplight, My own Lili Marlene.
Orders came for sailing somewhere over there, All confined to barracks was more than I could bear; I knew you were waiting in the street, I heard your feet, But could not meet, My Lili of the lamplight, My own Lili Marlene.
Resting in a billet, just behind the line, Even tho'we're parted, your lips are close to mine. You wait where that lantern softly gleams. Your sweet face seems to haunt my dreams. My Lili of the lamplight, My own Lili Marlene.
I specifically remember spending most nights (seems to be around the same time of night as well) listening to this on the radio in my apartment while drinking scotch, with only the fireplace lit behind me, & staring at Anna's picture. I knew that she was probably listening too & that was something that connected us even though we couldn't actually be together. Just hearing this song immediately puts me into a solemn & reflective mood.
Sincerely, Laurasia

It does not surprise me that music helps you access your past life memories. Music is associated with Neptune, and Neptune is obviously associated with past lives, the afterlife, fantasy, psychic ability, dreams, etc.. you get the idea. Neptune is also associated with water, and I find it interesting how I tend to get a lot of memories coming back to me when I shower or swim!

There is no question music has a way of putting one in an altered consciousness. I seem to get a very strong reaction to bagpipes, which would be ancestral, as opposed to karmic. When I hear them play, mood changes totally. It's easy to understand how the Scottish regiments became so famous; everybody was in an altered state prior to going into battle.

Same here! I have found that Dead Can Dance "The Labyrinth" works wonders on most of my past lives...or for just to get into "the mood" for any psychic work, etc. As for accessing Anna's life, Lili Marlene is a very good one, but it makes me cry (only when I hear it sung in German). Also, slow songs from the era such as "Gloomy Sunday" and "Getting Sentimental Over You" strike a chord.

Bagpipes hold me in quite a sway as well, McCoy. Not sure if that is a past life thing or not, but there's a chance that it is. Oh Dead Can Dance is my usual "I-need-to-meditate" music of choice as well. (Though I can't really use it for Hans. He's very wary of coming up during meditation if I'm relying heavily on anything Hindu or "Eastern". I guess old habits die hard for him. ) And, of course, Big Band Swing from the 30s & 40s is still one of my favorite types of music & can often bring about recollections for me. ;D Sincerely, Laurasia

"Stein Um Stein" ("Stone By Stone") by Rammstein
This was the first of two songs from their "Reise, Reise" album that immediately set me to bawling when I heard it. Now bear in mind that my German is not so great that I can readily figure out what is beind said the first time around (I was able to figure out the title though - my German isn't that bad. LOL!) So I really didn't understand exactly why the two songs were affecting me so strongly.....what I did understand is that it must have been coming from Hans. After I was able to translate the lyrics I understood, & later on received recollections caused by this song that made me understand very clearly why I had been affected in such a way. Here are the lyrics.....
(Rough English translation)
I have plans, big plans. I'm going to build you a house. Every stone will be a tear, And you'll never move out. Yeah I'm going to build a little house for you with no windows, with no door. It will be dark inside. No light will get in at all.
Yeah I will make you a home, And you are to be a part of it all.
Stone by stone, I wall you in. Stone by stone. I will always be with you.
Without clothing. Without shoes. You watch me working, With your feet in cement. You brighten up the foundation. Outside there will be a garden And no one will hear you scream!
Stone by stone, I wall you in. Stone by stone. I will always be with you. I will always be with you!
What a pounding. What a hammering. Outside it is starting to get dark. All of the nails stand at attention when I ram them into your body!
Stone by stone, I wall you in! Stone by stone, I will wall you in! Stone by stone, I will wall you in! Stone by stone! And nobody will hear you scream!
I have since connected the lyrics of this song to a recollection of receiving orders from Reichsfuhrer Himmler to return to my camp at Chelmno after it had already been destroyed & I had done a second tour with the Einsatzgruppe units. I was confused as to how that could be since we had destroyed the camp when we first left it & I was told that "it would be rebuilt for me".
Sincerely, Laurasia

"Ohne Dich" (Without You) by Rammstein
This is the second song from Rammstein's "Reise, Reise" album that immediately set me to bawling. Again, I was unaware of the song's translation until afterward. I did know that it was the Hans in me that was directly relating this song to Anna while I was listening to it though. I later pinpointed the relation to having to leave Anna to serve my second tour with the Einsatzgruppe units. Here are the lyrics.....
Ohne dich Ohne dich Ohne dich Ohne dich
(Rough English translation)
I will go into the fir forest. There, where I last saw her. But the evening throws a cloth on the country and on the ways within forest. And the forest stands so black and empty. Woe is me, oh woe... And the birds do not sing anymore.
Without you I cannot be. Without you. With you I am alone as well. Without you. Without you, count I the hours without you. With you the seconds stand still... They aren't worth it.
On the branches & in the ditches it is now quiet and without life. And breathing becomes so hard for me. Woe is me, oh woe. And the birds do not sing anymore.
Without you I cannot be. Without you. With you I am alone as well. Without you. Without you, I count the hours without you. With you the seconds stand still. They are not worth it without you.
Without you. Without you. Without you. Without you.
Sincerely, Laurasia

"Tired Old Man" by Godhead
This is the song that made me first recall Hans' suicide. Here are the lyrics...
I want to be overcome. But I can't, I am numb. I want to see what's become. Close my eyes, bite my tongue.
If you'll believe in me, I'll try not to die. If work keeps me living It's got to start giving me life... Not strife.
I'm so tired of living here! I'm so tired of giving here!
I want to run and be free. But I can't, I'm so weak. I want to hold you again. In my arms, my old friend.
I have just one more chance to feel... What is real. I can't keep going on. I feel my mind slowing. My heart's torn apart.
I'm so tired of living here! I'm so tired of giving here!
Sincerely, Laurasia

"Right Where It Belongs" by Nine Inch Nails
I simply can relate this song to the insane mess that was Hans' mind towards the end of his life. The lyrics....
See the animal in his cage that you built. Are you sure what side you're on? Better not look him too closely in the eye. Are you sure what side of the glass you are on? See the safety of the life you have built.... Everything where it belongs. Feel the hollowness inside of your heart. And it's all right where it belongs.
What if everything around you.... Isn't quite as it seems? What if all the world you think you know... Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection.... Is that all you want to be? What if you could look right through the cracks? Would you find yourself.... Find yourself afraid to see?
What if all the world's inside of your head? Just creations of your own? Your devils and your gods.... All the living and the dead.... And you're really all alone? You can live in this illusion. You can choose to believe. You keep looking but you can't find the woods, Though you're hiding in the trees.
What if everything around you... Isn't quite as it seems? What if all the world you used to know.... Is an elaborate dream? And if you look at your reflection.... Is that all you wanted to be? What if you could look right through the cracks? Would you find yourself.... Find yourself afraid to see?!

"Every Day Is Exactly The Same" by Nine Inch Nails
I can relate this song to how Hans generally felt about his camp at Chelmno & what it was doing to his own mind....
I believe I can see the future... Cause I repeat the same routine. I think I used to have a purpose. But then again, That might have been a dream. I think I used to have a voice. Now I never make a sound. I just do what I've been told. I really don't want them to come around...
Oh, no.
Every day is exactly the same. Every day is exactly the same. There is no love here, and there is no pain. Every day is exactly the same.
I can feel their eyes are watching... In case I lose myself again. Sometimes I think I'm happy here. Sometimes...yeah I still pretend. I can't remember how this got started! But I can tell you exactly how it will end.
Every day is exactly the same. Every day is exactly the same. There is no love here, and there is no pain. Every day is exactly the same.
I'm writing on a little piece of paper, I'm hoping someday you might find. Well I'll hide it behind something They won't look behind. I am still inside here. A little bit comes bleeding through.... I wish this could have been any other way. But I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do!
Every day is exactly the same. Every day is exactly the same. There is no love here, and there is no pain. Every day is exactly the same.
Every day is exactly the same! Every day is exactly the same! There is no love here, and there is no pain. Every day is exactly the same! Every day is the same!!!!
Sincerely, Laurasia

"Snuff" by Slipknot
This, for me at least, is another tear-jerker. The first half makes me think of Anna & the rest makes me think of the Reich itself. Here's the lyrics....
Bury all your secrets in my skin. Come away with innocence, and leave me with my sins. The air around me still feels like a cage. And love is just a camouflage for what resembles rage, again...
So if you love me, let me go. And run away before I know. My heart is just too dark to care. I can't destroy what isn't there. Deliver me into my fate. If I'm alone I cannot hate. I don't deserve to have you... My smile was taken long ago. If I can change, I hope I never know.
I still press your letters to my lips... And cherish them in parts of me that savor every kiss. I couldn't face a life without your light. But all of that was ripped apart... when you refused to fight.
So save your breath, I will not hear. I think I've made it very clear. You couldn't hate enough to love. Is that supposed to be enough? I only wish you weren't my friend. Then I could hurt you in the end. I never claimed to be a saint... My own was banished long ago, It took the death of hope to let you go.
So break yourself against my stones. And spit your pity in my soul. You never needed any help. You sold me out to save yourself. And I won't listen to your shame! You ran away - you're all the same! Angels lie to keep control. My love was punished long ago. If you still care, don't ever let me know! If you still care, don't ever let me know!!
Sincerely, Laurasia

"Closer To The Edge" - 30 Seconds To Mars
This was is their latest single actually. This one I don't literally connect with Hans' life though. Rather I connect this song to refusing to be consumed with guilt over any of my actions in a former lifetime....especially to the point of having it consume my current life. We are here to remember, learn, & educate; but not to get hung up on guilt. A lesson that I think all of us need to take to heart. Here's the lyrics.....
I don't remember the moment I tried to forget, I lost myself, is it better not said now I'm closer to the edge. It was a thousand to one and a million to two. Time to go down in flames and I'm taking you. Closer to the edge.
No I'm, not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. No I'm not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. NO NO NO!
(Can you, can you, can you) Can you imagine a time when the truth ran free. The birth of a song, the death of a dream. Closer to the edge.
This never ending story, paid for with pride and faith. We all fall short of glory, lost in ourselves!
No I'm, not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. No I'm, not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. NO NO NO NO!
(NO NO NO NO!) I will never forget! (NO NO!) I will never regret! (NO NO!) I will live my life!
(NO NO NO NO!) I will never forget! (NO NO!) I will never regret! (NO NO!) I WILL LIVE MY LIFE!!!!!
No I'm, not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. (NO NO!) No I'm not saying I'm sorry, one day maybe we'll make it. (NO NO NO NO!)
Closer to the edge! Closer to the edge! NO NO NO NO!
Closer to the edge! Closer to the edge! NO NO NO NO!
Closer to the edge.
Sincerely, Laurasia
