just out of curiosity, does anyone else have the desire (or need) to go somewhere they havent been before? like someplace you normally wouldnt feel the real need to go, like something's pulling you there? or do you feel a connection to a particular place, city, building, etc?
i have a few places, but i'm not sure if they're past life-related or not. but i think (and read somewhere) that if you feel a pull to a particular place(s), it could lead you to something about your past(s).
for me, it's Schloss Neuschwanstein - when i was a kid, i carried around a photo of it in my backpack because i thought i could live there when i grew up (lol). same with the Winter Palace in St Petersburg Russia and Versailles. when i was a kid, they were going to be homes. and i'm hoping to go to each before i die.
also, Auschwitz-Birkenau (i think it's because so much of my grandmother's family died there) and Sachsenhausen (where my grandmother's older brother was an SS, so i think this explains that one) camps. Germany, France, Ireland, Rome, Vietnam, St Petersburg Russia, Czech Republic, Andersonville GA, Tower of London, Turkey, and London itself.
i've never been to any of those places before, but i feel like i HAVE to go there for some unexplicable reason. i was wondering if anyone else had any sorts of feelings like this?

I honestly do not believe that every place we have an inexplicable desire to visit is past life related, and I feel that it is silly to try to find past life connections to every unexplained desire, habit, or liking we may possess. Example: I am quite familiar with Neuschwanstein, as are many people...so many people, in fact, that the castle has had over 6 million visitors. There are so many people who feel connected to the castle and Ludwig, there are even fan girls...but the only person who really lived there was Ludwig, as it was immediately open for tours after his death. So, which of the over 6 million people who felt a draw to Neuschwanstein were Ludwig in that time? Typically, there is one, and simply feeling a draw to it seems to be quite a popular feeling. It is said to be one of the most beautiful, fairy tale castles so of course many people will feel a draw.
Same thing could be said to the other palaces you named. They are pretty. I actually believe that I have found the reincarnation of a former resident of Versailles, and as well as I know her, she has never told me she has felt a draw to the palace. Besides that, being high nobility in a past life (meaning queen, king, prince, princess) once is a statistical miracle, let alone having it happen three times...
I am just saying that just because we have a draw to a place does not mean that we have a past life connection to it...I mean, our current incarnations have to develop our own interests and passions! I personally completely refuse the notion that all of our interests come from other lives; it makes no sense, anyway. It is like perpetually being the little sister who only tries to emulate the older sibling who is so creative and has such a good time with their friends, and then one day, stepping back to realize that she actually had no personality or creativity of her own...it had been an emulation of somebody else the entire time. But, I honestly do believe that some people are fine with that...

Doctorwhat, oh, believe, you have not worded your post strangely, I just read it and I was not implying that you necessarily believed you were royalty in all of those places, but it reminded me of the people who DO do that or believe that EVERYTHING that they think, love, feel, hate is past life related, and it just put me on a tangent, haha! So, it is not that you worded it weirdly or anything personal, and I should have made that clear! Haha, yeah...the thing about the Cleopatras, Marie Antoinettes, and Anne Boleyns is like what Iseke said to me: If they were in Egypt, they were a high priestess. If they were in Russia, they were a Romanov. When I, myself, was in Egypt, I was a slave, and in Russia, I ran away to France after my parents both died in some sort of accident and became a ballet dancer, so those things Iseke said made me laugh!

Lol, Doc & Luna! I have the same opinion; it bothers me that so many people claim they were Cleo or Napoleon, not just because it's clichéd but because it most certainly cheapens the memories of anyone who had a 'famous' past life. It's a good point about the influx of claims after movies; things seem familiar during them, but there are a host of reasons for that. Maybe they did live during that era, or in that country, or maybe they're so caught up in the film their imagination rockets off. Maybe there's a replica chair in it whose original they saw in a museum aged four.... and so on.
When I found out Auschwitz did tours, I wanted to go while also thinking it was the most horrible "holiday" there could ever be. I was about eleven, and didn't know what had gone on in camps except for a lot of people dying. Oddly, that year my granny went with my aunt and uncle, and she described it as the most peaceful but disgusting place she could have imagined. I think there's an almost morbid fascination when it comes to visiting the camps. It's a way to look history in the eye, regardless of whether you lived it (in any incarnation) or not. And I think it's important that they're shown, displayed, dissected and open for everyone to see, to use their imaginations to feel what it was like for millions of people - because maybe then, it will never happen again.
I wanted to be an Egyptologist from a young age - incredibly young; I was perhaps four when I called the Egyptology room at the local museum 'my home' - so I would LOVE to go there. Did I live in it? Maybe. To me it doesn't matter much whether it's a past-life connection or a brand new attachment. I love it, and I'll be there one day, possibly crying with joy :P I fell in love with Japan a few years ago, but I'm pretty sure that attachment's shiny and new. I'd love to go to Osaka, Kyoto, Okinawa, and lay a flower at the memorials in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
I don't know if I still want to go to the camp. The reckless part of me wants to go and see if anything happens, but the rest of me is terrified of what might happen. If it turned out to be the one Marlene's husband worked at, I'd probably have a nervous breakdown!

They say that the person who did in fact have a well known past life has a terrible job believing it. I can so vouch for that! My astrology confirms it. My 'recall and memories' confirm it. An historian who knows the real life surviving family of my probable PL wonders how the heck I know so much relatively undocumented stuff about the dude, and I STILL go into terrible denial about it all! If someone else came a long and said they were him instead do you know I'd almost be happy to let them lay claim to it, even though it would feel a bit like theft in an odd way. I would gladly let them take the karma, ha ha. But I would not like to lose that which I know I love about my PL. Like my feelings for my wife and kids. That would actually hurt.
But I do think that there are probably many wannabee reincarnated celebs. Especially for really glam figures like Cleopatra and princesses etc. Although spirits can and do split, and some famous people may have done that. In which case you may find people who are aspects.
If there are more people alive now than have ever lived in the whole of history combined, which is what they say, then it is possible that spirits have indeed split up into multiple incarnations over time. A friend of mine had a theory that there is a level of spirit that belongs to the earth and that the more people, maybe animals too, who are born the more it fragments. It's an interesting theory, though I am not sure about its truth or lack of truth.

I think Egypt is a place that attracts many people. I was reading E W Budge at 7 and trying to do Chaldean magical rituals to contact Anubis, lol! I might have been alive then, but I am not much bothered about finding out the detail of any PL there. I am more interested in the recent lives and those which connect into what I am doing now.

Good question Doctorwhat. ;D Let's see...places I have felt drawn to? Well, Germany, Poland, Norway, Greece, Arabia, Colorado....& that's all that I can think of from the top of my head. And, yes, all of those have PL significance to me. Sincerely, Laurasia

Germany, as I suppose goes without saying--particularly northern Germany. When I was much younger, I had a dream about Germany and awoke sobbing and saying "I want to go home" in German. Thus far I have not had the chance to visit. I'd like to.
I've also felt very drawn to Denmark, and I believe I did have a past life there. As far as cities go, I've always felt drawn to Chicago, although I've only visited once.

Always Belgium and to a lesser degree Holland. Always had an aversion to Poland for obvious reasons. But after my mother was liberated, she moved to both Belgium and Holland, and since I was earthbound I followed her. I went to those places in 1997 and I was excited to finally go but had a sense of sadness at the same time. The interesting thing, my daughter who was my past life mother wants to see those places as well, and always loved tulips, especially as a baby. Interesting.

Re Sarque: I am with you on Northern Germany. I was originally born in Osterfeld (around Central Germany) but moved soon after to Lubeck (port city) and was there a few years. While there, I had gone to Finland - but I don't remember why. Around the mid-'20's my family moved to Leipzig and I didn't like being away from the ships. So, when I was 14 I went to Hamburg...to Finkenwaerder - the Seemanns Schule to learn the trade and get my captain's ticket. So - I had spent most of my life there in Northern Germany. During the War, my place of residence was in Kiel. SS3: Finland is AMAZING! I went there last year and it is probably the one place, other than Wales, England or Norway, that I felt I could live. It has just the BEST atmosphere! One of my contacts, Rauni, (who works in the field we must not mention, lol), is from Finalnd. She is helping out with this Von Braun project. ** I personally miss Finland. I know this may come up in discussions, but I feel more Finn-German than strictly German. The sea is my home...I feel like I know the sea like the back of my hand, and I just make 'pit stops' on land. That is interesting she is helping out with the von Braun project. Finalnd is the most beautiful place too. Oh, it is magic! You must go there someday! I really hope you can get there and see for yourself. I am sure it would bring back many memories. What a great place! **It would be nice. The Cape Horn ship I served on - the Oldenburg, now the Suomen Joutsen, is preserved there in Turku. I'd like to go on the ship again...just to see how things have changed... I think there would be many memories brought back considering - technically speaking, my Finnish lifetime is my 'true' past life. I am pleased that the guy who watched out for Lina in her later years and who became her second husband was a Fin. He was a Finnish playwrite. I must check out his work. **Oh neat. I like this Finnish folk song - here is a sample from Amazon.com (it is number 16 on the list): www.amazon.com/Folk-Voices-Finnish-Song-Through/dp/B00000K53IIt would be nice to try to find more maritime related Finnish folk songs.

LOL! I agree with Laurasia. I would be here all day trying to list my PL related draws to other places. Let us just say that they are many..though Greece and Austria would be at the top.

Yep, lots of places. XD I want to go to Munich/Southern Germany in general (that's where he grew up I want to see what's changed), I want to go to Berlin (that's where he moved when he was... sixteen? seventeen? give or take), and I definitely want to see Auschwitz-Birkenau. The last one feels more like an obligation, though -- I want to go; he sure as h*** doesn't (does that even make sense without me sounding crazy? XD). Let's see... I definitely want to go to Paris, but I feel like one of two things would happen if I did go there -- I'd fall in love and never want to leave... oooor I'd be horribly depressed and reminded of everything that happened and never want to go there ever again. Paris has special meaning, so... I'm nervous about going there. I don't want to see how it's changed! There are a few towns I want to poke around in -- Drochaw (now it's Schipkau, I think...), Ludlow-Polski (if that's the right town I'm thinking of), Darmstadt (because that city seems REALLY, really familiar for some reason), places like that. I think that's all... at least, for now. I'll probably think of other places, but those are the major ones that immediately come to mind.

Russia, mainly. Also Iceland and Turkey, but I don't know if I had PLs there.
I have actually been to places overseas that I had lived in before and not felt any particular draw, though, so...goes both ways I guess!
