Ever since we were first married the wife and I had an ongoing and thoroughly tongue in cheek rivalry about sides of the family. Each of us vigorously asserted our side was worse. Given we knew the people, it was impossible to out and out lie and even to exaggerate would have been a bit risky. After years of hashing that around, we finally came to an agreement. Her side was far worse overall, but simply because there were more people to spread it out over. Measured on a per capita basis, my side won hands down. And yeah, we have been divorced a lot of years now, but we're still good friends, know the same people, have some of the same interests. Not like there were any kids to complicate stuff. So, of course, in these long and convoluted conversations, we often touch on the business of relatives.
Cut to the chase. In our most recent family exchange of info, we kicked around two things which amused us greatly. Now, back in the days when my brother was still alive, he and the sister-in-law did an inordinate amount of sneering at me over who my employer was. So, just guess who SHE is working for now? And not liking it of course. As of the point one of her sisters discovered she was a lesbian, the sister made a determined effort to make sure neither of her daughters had any contact, I guess afraid the thing transmits verbally. So, just guess, ah too easy was it, yes one of her daughters is a lesbian.
As I've already mentioned before in Hasidic belief, God created all this stuff because he likes the entertainment, the soap opera. The more I see of life, the more I think the Hasids are onto something.

Hi McCoy.
Oh that is too funny about your sister-in-law finding herself working there. Even though it more than likely working there wasn't of her own accord, I like the expression "turning into that which we hate the most" for situations like those. And that exact thing happens far too often with people in my experience!
As for her daughter revealing that she is a lesbian...now that IS funny! Not in the sense that she will likely face being scorned by her mother, but that her mother will either have to learn the error of her judgements regarding homosexuals or likely face losing her daughter. When people hold such harsh & incorrect judgements about such things they do tend to find a way to come front in center into their faces.
Sincerely, Laurasia

The Indians have a very neat way of denying the whole thing, some of them that is. They blame the whole gay/lesbian scene on the influence of whites, ie since days of the English in India; and assert no such thing happened prior to that. And yet if you read the history the gay/lesbian scene was around during days the Kama Sutra was written. And of course everywhere else in the world. The worst element are the BJP Bharatiya Janata Party ultranationalist set, but that's getting a bit obscure. And of course there are lots of people who are physically present here in North American whose headspace is still Old Country.
As for the sister-in-law, yes, she's been around several years, we weren't talking news, but updates. She is of course less than thrilled, and indirectly I've heard a number of humorous stories. Despite how huge it is, there really are not a lot of well kept secrets; I mean inside the walls, outside it we keep our secrets pretty well.
Best wishes.

That is a story that just shows what happens when karma comes and bites you in the butt!
