This is another good one... beyond-within.com/blog/law-of-attraction/is-personal-responsibility-absolute/Excerpt: Interestingly, many of those who claim 100% responsibility for their experience are also anti-ego, which is often equated with the conscious mind. Y’know, the part of us capable of critical thinking, planning, troubleshooting, reasoning and evaluating why things happen the way they do so perhaps they can be made to happen in a preferable way? Or to make a long story short – the only part of ourselves capable of taking responsibility? Yep – if you manage to get rid of your ego, then no soup responsibility for you. You simply become part of the collection of influences, causes and effects with no “I” to organize or direct them, which the rest of us then have to take responsibility for if the artist formerly known as “you” should wander into our respective spheres. It could thus be said that the movement to be rid of ego can be rightly viewed as a collective ducking of responsibility.

I rather doubt it's an either/or situation, but a spectrum with various people at different points on it. There's a reason I feel no animosity towards any particular Germans, regardless of what they might have done, that's simply they are a product of history. Not meaning to be boring, but the whole thing gets started with the Industrial Revolution. Prior to that, yes there was hatred towards Jews, but it was primarily based on religion. The concepts of "Jewish race" and "political antisemitism" simply had not yet been invented. The Industrial Revolution produced of course Communism and trade unionism, both of which were a response to the abuses inherent to the times. It also led to "political antisemitism". That is, some bright sparks blamed Jews for the abuses of the Industrial Revolution. This did not go over well with the worker class, who tended to favor Communism, as they could clearly see that yes the Jewish capitalist was ripping them off, but no more so than the other capitalists. Who was open to the message was the class who was losing out, their small artisanal businesses being muscled out by large factories; akin to today's box stores killing off small retail. Serious pamphletting got going in the 1860's, accomplished little, until the Crash of 1873 was blamed on - who else- Jews. Now the history of Germany and Austria in this era were fairly parallel, with the exception Austria had the ongoing debate between pan-Germans and Austrian nationalists, for which there was no parallel in Germany. Specialist antisemitic political parties formed up in both. These became obsolete by about 1890, as all parties had incorporated political antisemitism into their platforms. Jews chose parties on the basis of who was least antisemitic, where were their heads at? The various shortages of WW1 were blamed on - who else - Jews. The Treaty of Versailles, 1919, marks the beginning of the end for European Jewry. England and America were both willing to be reasonable in negotiations, adopted an attitude of everybody let's just rebuild from WW1. France was the holdout, insisting on conditions so draconian, that we all know the fallout. Depression, hyperinflation and the rise of nazism, which would have got nowhere at all if Germany had been allowed to simply experience a short post war recession and then get on with life. Given everybody here was born after all this stuff was rolling, I simply don't see a point in any blame. People were unemployed and desparate, took whatever jobs they could get.

Hello McCoy,
I actually posted this not in relation to WWII stuff - but the 'New Age Establishment' in general.
Long story-short: over on Spiritual Forums in the Strong Opinions section viewable only to members, I had taken on much of the very twisted and extremely warped stuff regarding the New Age Establishment (the subject of responsibility being one of the things) - the thread was about how my landlord (the wife of the husband-wife team) was treating me...amongst other things.
I directly challenged these, evidently worthless, New Age 'philosophies' with real life experience. Thankfully not all those responding were laying at my feet stupid platitudes and all this nonsense about being introspective and that it is all my responsibility of how other people act. (Hence the posting of the other articles here as well).
I challenge much of this fluff-bunny/airy fairy nonsense and expose it for what it is - worthless garbage. I guess in the process, I like to give others the chance to do so too and regain personal sovereignty.
