Hi nomadicsoul :-) Welcome to SR and you're certainly not 'intruding' at all, we're very happy to have you on board. If you've already delved into posts here you'll see we're a very friendly and supportive bunch and our stories pretty much echo your own. Please feel free to elaborate with your memories and feelings about your PL, this is a very safe and nurturing space to do that and no one will judge you. Well, we're mainly girls on this forum, and you're our second gay man to join, aside from our lovely Gerhardt, so you should feel perfectly comfortable. Most of us ex Nazis (including myself) have been born into families on 'enemy' territory as it were, as most of us are from the US and the UK, my father lived through the German occupation of Jersey and had close encounters with the Gestapo and SS, so I know the feeling about wondering if it's all just come from imbibing the experiences of our parents and grandparents. I hope you enjoy your time here and that you feel able to open up and begin your journey towards healing. This forum has been a life-saver for many of us, so please talk away! If you have any queries or problems with the boards feel free to PM either myself or our senior moderators Laurasia and MsMir. Wishing you well Liz

Liz,
Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I do think that I feel quite a bit more "at home" here than I normally do, so that's a good sign, I think.
I am a little unsure as to where I should go on- right now it seems like there's a huge chunk of information I want to put out there and get thoughts on, but I don't want to "necro" threads or place the wrong information in the wrong place.
Best,

Hello again! No worries :-) You can post anything relating to your PL in the forum section 'member's lives during the Third Reich' (there are sub-sections within it for whichever Axis force you were a member of - I believe we have a section for Waffen SS). It's fine to carry on here of course, if you wish to, there's no hard and fast rules regarding that, but if you want to 'journal' more (which many of us have) feel free to add your thread in the 'member's past lives during the Third Reich' forum. However we do have a members only forum for when we want to share things we feel are too sensitive or private for the general googling public to have access to, so again you're welcome to post there as well. :-) If you do end up going too off-topic on a thread you can continue the thread elsewhere in the inappropriate section - (for instance 'past lives not connected to WW2' forum). It's all fairly self-explanatory when you look through the boards. Don't worry too much at this point, just introduce yourself and tell us more about your story here if you prefer, then at some later stage you might find it helpful to keep a personal thread for your own reflection and as a guide for your journey. Good luck!

Hello Nomadicsoul. Welcome to the forum. I'm glad that you are feeling mroe at home than you have on other such forums. That was the entire point of my making this forum, so I am glad to hear it. ;D As Liz has mentioned, there are various options on where you can post your recollections depending on their topic matter & how comfortable you are with sharing them openly. Of course you do not have to share anything that your uncomfortable with sharing...even I haven't disclosed everything about my life as Hans. Just relax, have a look around, get to know some members & things should happen quite naturally. And, of course, if you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact one of the staff. Sincerely, Laurasia
