Boy did you choose the right word when you said "kulpa", since it is Sanskrit. That's because my belief in the world having previously incarnations (just like we do) comes from Hinduism.
I am literally referring to one of earth's pervious incarnations & not an "alternate reality" or anything along those lines.
As for the Many Worlds Interpretation stuff goes....I've never studied quantum physics or other such topics, so it's "all Latin" to me. If someone were to tell me that they've recalled a lifetime within 1800s New York but everyone was speaking Norwegian, I would assume that they were a member of & living with a migrant labor community from Norway. Not that they were recalling an "alternate reality".
