Well, actually...
I live in the area a big earthquake is expected to hit. Last big one was 1906 and we are due for another one...
Scares the hell out of me!
And, wow, to be honest knowing that sort of thing beforehand like you did would scare me too, unless it gave me a chance to prepare, maybe, but...it would still feel terrifying. I...have more to think on this.
Take care!

Your post both addressed my deeper, unspoken concerns, and comforted me far more than I would have thought possible in this situation. It put things in perspective for me...usually I am levelheaded but at the time I felt myself slipping into a bit of strong fear, and what you said gives me great comfort. So for that, I thank you!
And you're right about the new unity being born out of all this! When everything that we have put stock in for so long fails, all we will have is each other.

I have also been shocked by the devestation in Japan, but the coming together afterwards has been inspiring indeed. Though I do know some who were more concerned about the indirect affects of all of this upon themselves (meaning higher gas prices ), which enraged me. Thankfully most people I've encountered are more empathetic than that though. Sincerely, Laurasia

It is truly devastating what happened in Japan and my prayers go out to them. I know what you mean Laurasia..even on tv there were people talking about "how does it affect me?" I pray for these people too, because clearly they need to find their compassion.

I had watched on the BBC World News some film and following a list of what was going on. I could have cried (and I don't easily cry)...but something of such magnitude to a wonderful country...it's just...wow.
And those people who go off on that 'how does it affect me?' tangent...perhaps they're just too caught up in their lives...maybe they have their own trials and tribulations and are more preoccupied with dealing with those rather than something half a world a way so to speak.

Yeah I know, but I never said that patience was one of my strong points. LOL! Seeing people being so absolutely self-centered, especially in regards to something SO cataclysmic for others, just pushes all of the wrong buttons within me. Sincerely, Laurasia

I understand Laurasia...but compared to that, still hearing others going off about Pearl Harbor and turning their noses up at the Japanese boggles my mind. On the local news - there is a 'call back' and so far there were two guys that called in and brought up Pearl Harbor.
You see - I just can't 'comprehend' that sort of mentality. It's one thing if their in their own 'world' taking care of their problems...but to hold a grudge and show such callousness...leaves me speechless.

Hmm...yeah, maybe I could give them my CFS. Then they won't have the energy to hold such grudges cause it will be used up on more practical things. *laughs w/ evil grin*

Well, since I AM located in a state that was directly affected by the quake/tsunami (we did get some tsunami waves up in our bay), it'd be pretty hard to ignore this and call it someone else's problem!
We're all in this together....

Re Iseke - I saw that on a video on The Blaze site. I live on the US East Coast (PA - so mid-Atlantic) and I guess if one doesn't directly see the effects of such a catastrophe then I can see how they just might respond that way. Not that I'm giving them a 'free pass' - understand.

The reason why I'm posting this here is because it is relevant to the Opening Topic: I just happened to get this email out of the blue - I have no idea why it was sent as I'm not signed up to anything from this company, nor have I gotten any other emails from them...but here goes anyway... It was sent by the New Zealand Essences company and it was about '21st Century Survival Kit Essences'. 21st Century Survival Kit Essences© The 21st Century has so far been characterised by the frequency and magnitude of the natural disasters occurring across the planet. Late reply to this post, but I think you're right! What with all of the seismic activity going on in NZ alone, its pretty darn shocking indeed! (Do you mind telling me what HAARP is please?) Don't really want to think about what's going to happen by 2012... maybe the Isthmus of Panama will split? I just wanna graduate before the world ends! (Really bad joke). Any-who, I shall keep reading through this thread!

I truly believe that if we are serene and let go and let God, (however you see creation, not in the dogmatic sense), then this is the best defence so long as we have a bit of sensible physical world forward planning too, like food in, like asking friends in safer areas to let you stay there in the event of a disaster etc). I had this "2012" obsession up until the beginning of 2011 since 2009. I would obsess over how the world would end, and read so many books about solar and tectonic shifts it ended up overwhelming me. Eventually, enough was enough, and I decided to let "whatever will be, will we." I live in by the sea too. In fact, beside a giant volcano and I don't particularly want to replay "Pompeii"! I feel like I can't move away either, 'cause I've got study and family obligations. I will most likely move to another country in the space of 2 - 3 years, but until then, I'm with my family and friends. Come hell or Hopi prophecy! Very interesting post.
