Lilac is one of the oils that helps with past life recall. You can also try using Mugwort(herb) to recall pastlife.
Carnelian stone is also helpful.

Hey, in my case diesel exhaust fumes work VERY well...though it isn't pleasant AT ALL.
In all seriousness though, here are some other correspondences for recalling one's past lives....
Crystals/Stones: Petrified wood, unakite, apatite & opal.
Fragrances: Cedar, sage & sandalwood.
Herbs: Sandalwood & yarrow.

I have found that clear quartz crystal is VERY helpful with triggering memories. This is especially potent when placed over the third eye chakra while meditating.
